$100 Oil And $800 Gold...

Today oil gained $4.15, 4.59% (EXTREMELY unusual daily percentage move for oil), to close at $94.30. Oil is regularly breaking new records and could crack $100 for the first time ever at tomorrow's market open if it wants to. Clearly this is due to geo-political and not supply/demand concerns. I can't help but think that the Democratic debate may have lent to this as Hillary is clearly the front-runner and I don't think anyone bought her bullshit about not wanting to war with Iran. Not to mention that she got slammed by the other candidates regarding her essentially voting for war in Iran.

Today gold gained $7.50 to close at $795.30 and is at a 20-year high, less than 1% away from cracking $800.

We're being told all over the media that inflation is a myth and that we have a "Goldilocks economy." "Goldilocks" as in "not too hot, not too cold, but jjjjuuuuussssstttt right."

That's rather odd as housing data and the credit markets are all but screaming disaster and two of the MAJOR commodity prices used to indicate inflation (gold and black gold) are hitting some MAJOR key levels.

But don't worry, it's ALL good... Not too hot, not too cold, but jjjjuuuusssstttt right...

I think the economy is in the shitter, but thanks to the current policies, you won't see many bailouts this time around. (except where it helps Cheney). I otherwords, if you can't pay your bills today, you're not going to get any help. The correction will be more at the individual level than at the Federal or even Corporate one. Sad, but that's survival of the fittest.

And it's in full-effect a-la the end of Reaganomics.

Well, fuftyfluff, the question that's been rolling around in my head for sometime and REALLY lately for some reason... is... What if Hillary is playing possum? What if she's pulling the ol' republican trick of "tell 'em what they need ta hear, then FUCK 'em in the ASS (the other vagina, according to Pat)!!!" She COULD be pullin' the ol' switcheroo. Say what you gotta to get a nice chunk of the rep vote, while still soaking up the Dem vote that's gonna automatically vote for her because she's Bill's wife and/or the Dem way-out-front-runner...

I'm kinda torn. I'm having second thoughts that she's ACTUALLY sold out... If we take her words at face value, FUCK HER! But what if she is really manipulating everybody just to get in. Then, once there, BAM! Fix every goddam thing!

Shit, I'm so torn. SUCH a big decision. She's the most intelligent/crafty/clever of ALL candidates running for Prez. I just don't know what team she is REALLY on... Sad

Speaking of cars, this would be a great time to pick up a PT Cruiser Convertable. Talk about an investment! That's going to be a very rare car in very little time.

I know it not a muscle car, but things have value because they're rare, and Chrysler (edited, thank you Pat, been trippin' lately) only made them for one year. (Based on what I remember on the news very early this morning)

Only during Dubya's reign has the price of gasoline in Hawaii actually been anywhere near what it is elsewhere in the USA. Now we actually have cheaper gas than a few spots on the mainland. Gas prices may have never been anywhere near as high as they are now, but at least gas isn't like 30-50% more expensive in Hawaii than the rest of the States anymore...

Oh yeah, Wax, yes. That $100 oil prediction was Pickens'. I think he expected it sooner though. I'll say this about the guy, in a world of bullshit coming out of OPEC and US oil companies, Pickens has never been wrong yet. At least what I've seen, anyway. He's not a bullshitter. They DO have the best leather though. Japanese leather is fucking RUBBISH! But, the Japanese DO make the best cars. Well, next to the Italians. But that's only Ferrari and Lamborghini. All other Italian is rubbish. The Koreans are REALLY coming into being! Well, Hyundai anyway. Kia is still shit. Hyundai is definitely a car I'd consider. Their styling has come a LONG way. I like the new Sonata. My friend has one and loves it. I rented one and loved it. VERY comparable to a Camry but for less money. They've got GREAT warranties too. Smile

Toyota isn't quite the car it used to be. Still arguably the best-made, but I think the days of running your Toy for 100,000+ miles without any real problems are behind us. That still beats Chevy/Ford/Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth/Jeep that only are good for about 10,000 miles before the endless repairs begin. Mercedes is shit too. So is Jag and fuck Land Rover! Ya gotta go with Toyota, Saturn, Hyundai, sorta Honda. Well, and Ferrari and Porsche. Very Happy

Ford makes a good truck if you don't mind a plasticky interior that looks slapped together and are willing to pay more than you would for a superior Toyota. Nissan trucks are a lot like Ford's, just nicer and a bit cheaper.
